POKOTABI / Ban BoonMee
BAN BOONMEE タイ料理 上板橋
Authentic Thai cooking at Kamitabashi's Ban BoonMee, from tender khao man gai with ginger rice to aromatic gapao stir-fries and house-specialty Isan sausage packed with vermicelli and rice.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
With the bright fragrance of fresh herbs and the invigorating kick of chilies, Ban BoonMee serves authentic Thai dishes rooted in the home-style cooking of northeastern Thailand's Isan region. The standout is the house-specialty Thai sausage, sai krok Isan. Made from a well-balanced mixture of minced pork, glass noodles, and rice, it delivers a pleasant pop of spices with every bite, pairing naturally with a cold Thai beer.
Lunchtime brings generous set meals accompanied by a mini salad and soup. Khao man gai features moist, tender chicken over savory ginger-scented rice paired with dipping sauce, while the gapao stir-fry showcases the peppery fragrance of holy basil alongside savory minced meat—both reliable staples on the menu. A combination plate offering both dishes is also available, and the kitchen accommodates requests for spice levels. The accompanying tom yum soup brings a sharp contrast of sour and spicy notes that rounds out the meal.
The noodle and curry repertoire is equally broad, from green curry laden with eggplant and chicken that builds gentle warmth as you eat, to pad thai served with citrus to squeeze over the top. The dining room is calm and centered on table seating, accommodating both dine-in and takeout. With a Singha or Chang beer in hand, it offers an unpretentious setting to enjoy authentic Thai cooking.
